The Descendants is a 2011 comedy-drama film based on the novel by Kaui Hart Hemmings. The film stars George Clooney, Judy Greer, Matthew Lillardand Shailene Woodley and is planned for release in the United States on November 18, 2011. It is directed by Alexander Payne,with a screenplay by Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash.The film screened at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival.
With his wife Elizabeth on life support after a boating accident, Hawaiian land baron Matt King (Clooney), takes his daughters on a trip from Oahu to Kauai to confront the young real estate broker (Lillard) who was having an affair with Elizabeth before her misfortune.
